SECURITY PERSONNEL

Our Security Personnel are employed to protect your assets such as property, people, equipment and vehicles.

Our Security Personnel uniforms clearly display the Cavalry Group’s branding and represents their lawful authority to protect private property.

Each of our Security Personnel is registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) which is the Governing Body and Regulatory Authority for the private security industry.

Prior to registration with PSIRA each member has to pass specific requirements to fulfill their duties.

The roles and responsibilities of our Security Personnel differ and are dependent on the grade that the person has obtained.

Grading is as follows:

Grade D Security Personnel

 

The main function is Access Control, Access Control Assistance, Patrolling of Perimeter Boundaries and premises and Observation.

 

Grade C Security Personnel

 

The main function is Access Control of a higher risk area, Patrolling of Perimeter Boundaries, Observation and report writing.

 

Grade B Security Personnel

 

The main function is access control in high-risk areas where documentation and basic computer skills might be required.

Grade B Security Personnel are site or shift commanders by managing of lower grade security officers and conducting inspections either by being a site commander or conducting site visits as a mobile commander.

Grade B Security Personnel is also responsible to conduct Analysis of premises, boundaries, Incident reporting and Investigations.

 

Grade A Security Personnel

 

The main function is a site manager or commander which will incorporate managing a number of functions such as:

 

  • Managing the security workforce
  • Conducting risk assessments and evaluations on site
  • Basic investigative skills
  • Problem solving
  • Designing security solutions

 

 

 

 

Specialized Security Personnel

 

Although the basic grading above indicates specific work environments of our security personnel certain specialized courses are required in addition to a specific grading to perform certain duties:

 

  • Special Events – Performing security tasks at any sport, medical, music event or function.
  • Response – Performing response to burglar alarms or panic activations.
  • Dog Handler – Performing Security tasks where trained security dogs is involved in the performance of security duties.
  • Control Centre – Performing control and command Centre functions.
  • Technician – Performing installations and repairs of Burglar alarms, Gate motors, CCTV equipment and electric fencing.
  • Wireman – Performing assistance to a technician.

Our Security Personnel maintain a high-visibility presence to deter illegal and inappropriate actions, looking (either directly, through patrols, or indirectly, by monitoring alarm systems or video surveillance cameras) for signs of crime or other hazards (such as a fire), Taking action to minimize damage (such as warning and escorting trespassers off property), and reporting any incidents to our clients and emergency services e.g. Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance and Municipal.
